Toyin Abraham’s “Oversabi Aunty” Premieres In Lagos

Lagos came alive with colour, culture, and excitement as ‘Oversabi Aunty‘ premiered at Filmhouse IMAX Cinema, Lekki Phase One, on Sunday, December 14, 2025. The star-studded premiere drew Nollywood actors, filmmakers, media personalities, and guests eager to catch the first screening of the much-anticipated film.

Produced by Toyin Abraham Productions in collaboration with FilmOne Studios, Oversabi Aunty tells the story of Toun, a self-righteous church usher whose constant interference sparks family tension. The comedy-drama blends humour, drama, and everyday life situations, delivering a relatable and entertaining narrative.

The red carpet was a major highlight, following a “Gele Skentelé” dress code that saw guests step out in vibrant traditional outfits, bold fabrics, and elaborate gele styles. Among the celebrities spotted were Iyabo Ojo, Uti Nwachukwu, Bisola Aiyeola, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, and Nasboi.

The film boasts a strong Nollywood cast led by Toyin Abraham, alongside Odunlade Adekola, Mike Ezuruonye, Ngozi Ezeonu, Queen Nwokoye, and Jemima Osunde.

Speaking with HipTV, cast members described the project as fun, relatable, and packed with laughter, urging audiences to expect strong performances and plenty of “oversabi” moments.

Oversabi Aunty hits cinemas nationwide on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
