Afrobeats Legends Deliver Nostalgic Performances At “Rewind Concert”

Afrobeats Legends Shine at Rewind Flashback Concert 2025

The second edition of the Rewind Flashback Concert, celebrating the golden era of Nigerian music, has wrapped up its two-city run, delivering nights of nostalgia and classic Afrobeats hits.

Cool DJ Jimmy Jatt hosted the concert series in collaboration with Yaw Naija TV. It kicked off in Abuja on December 28, 2025, before moving to Lagos for a grand finale at the Eko Hotel and Suites on December 30.

Jimmy Jatt’s Perspective and Performances

DJ Jimmy Jatt explained in an interview with Hip TV that he designed the concert to give audiences live performances of songs they grew up listening to. He also highlighted his experience working with the artistes, noting that long-standing relationships made participation seamless.

Attendees enjoyed a throwback experience as they sang along to era-defining anthems by D’banj, 9ice, Dr Sid, Sir Shina Peters, Cynthia Morgan, and the Danfo Drivers, among others.

Artiste Reactions

Dr Sid expressed excitement about reuniting with colleagues after more than 15 years, crediting Jimmy Jatt for bringing the concept to life. He described the concert as important for audiences who connect strongly with older Nigerian music.

9ice praised DJ Jimmy Jatt for his years of support for artistes across generations. He linked the longevity of his music to commitment, loyalty, and consistency in his work.

Al Hassan of the music group Zule Zoo shared appreciation for the enduring acceptance of his song Kerewa, describing the moment as overwhelming.

The concert concluded with a high-energy performance from D’banj, bringing the night to a memorable close.
