Paul George poured in 32 points, and Joel Embiid added 29 as the Philadelphia 76ers overpowered the Milwaukee Bucks 139-122 on Tuesday night.
Sixers’ Star Power
George was deadly from long range, knocking down nine of his 15 three-point attempts. The result saw Philadelphia record its 25th win of the season.
Tyrese Maxey backed the star duo with 22 points and nine assists. Meanwhile, VJ Edgecombe delivered an all-round performance with 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
Bucks Shorthanded
Milwaukee played without Giannis Antetokounmpo due to a calf injury. He is expected to be sidelined for at least a month. However, the Bucks were led by Myles Turner’s 31 points and Ryan Rollins’ 24. Bobby Portis chipped in with 17 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.
The loss marked Milwaukee’s sixth defeat in seven games.
Decisive Third-Quarter Run
The game turned late in the third quarter. Philadelphia stretched a slim 94-91 lead with a decisive 12-point burst in the final two minutes. Maxey and George scored six points apiece during the run, pushing the Sixers into the fourth quarter with a commanding 106-95 advantage.
George and rookie Jared McCain then buried a series of three-pointers early in the final period as Philadelphia surged to a 22-point lead. Milwaukee briefly trimmed the margin, but Embiid answered with a clutch three to halt the rally and seal the win.
