Nottingham Forest have appointed former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Vítor Pereira as their new manager on an 18-month deal following the dismissal of Sean Dyche, the Premier League club confirmed on Sunday.
Pereira becomes Forest’s fourth permanent manager this season, after Nuno Espírito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Dyche.
Dyche was sacked after just 114 days in charge, with Wednesday’s goalless draw against bottom-placed Wolves proving to be his final match. The result extended Forest’s winless run and left the club hovering just above the relegation zone.
Managerial Background
The 57-year-old Portuguese coach was dismissed by Wolves in November after a 10-game winless streak.
Since 2020, he has managed in five countries, holding spells at Shanghai SIPG, Fenerbahce, Corinthians, Flamengo and Al Shabab before taking over at Wolves in December 2024. His tenure at Molineux lasted 11 months.
Pereira is set to take charge of his first match on Thursday when Forest face Turkish side Fenerbahce in the Europa League.
Forest’s League Situation
Forest currently sit 17th in the Premier League, one place above the relegation zone, with 12 matches remaining this season.
The club will hope Pereira can stabilise results and steer them clear of relegation danger in the closing weeks of the campaign.
