Liverpool manager Arne Slot has opted not to hold a pre-match press conference ahead of their Carabao Cup fourth-round clash with Crystal Palace.
The decision comes amid a difficult stretch of form for Liverpool. They have lost four consecutive Premier League matches and were also defeated by Galatasaray in the Champions League.
Though managers are not contractually obliged to conduct media duties before Carabao Cup fixtures, Slot’s absence is notable given the attention on his team. He had similarly bypassed a presser for last month’s round against Southampton when he attended the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
Injuries are mounting concerns for Liverpool. Goalkeeper Alisson, full-back Jeremie Frimpong, and Giovanni Leoni are confirmed out. Doubts remain over Alexander Isak, Ryan Gravenberch, and Curtis Jones.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, enter the fixture buoyed by a recent league win over Liverpool at Selhurst Park during the Reds’ slump.
