Davido Appointed Chairman Of Osun Sports Trust Fund

Davido has added a new title to his name  Chairman of the Osun Sports Trust Fund.

The appointment by Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, was announced by the state’s Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Sports, Prince Kola Adewusi, during the visit of the Osun State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) to his office in Osogbo.

The Osun Sports Trust Fund is designed to raise sustainable funding for sports development through private and public partnerships. It will focus on improving infrastructure, supporting young athletes, and promoting grassroots sports across the state.

Davido’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to attract global attention and investment into Osun sports. With his massive international influence, youthful appeal, and deep family ties to the state, his uncle being the state governor, Davido is expected to help mobilise resources and partnerships that will strengthen Osun’s sporting landscape.

Speaking during the announcement, Prince Adewusi explained that the initiative is part of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s broader agenda to overhaul the sports sector, including the ongoing renovation of the Osogbo Township Stadium and the creation of the Osun State Sports Commission.
