Carter Efe has emerged as Africa’s leading Twitch streamer, crossing 460,000 followers and redefining live streaming on the continent.
Record-Setting Stream
On December 17, 2025, Efe hosted a three-hour livestream with Afrobeats star Davido. The session peaked at about 83,000 concurrent viewers, setting a new African Twitch record and pushing Efe past Shank Comics.
Following the stream, Efe’s followers rose from 322,000 to over 406,000 within days. He also became the first African streamer to surpass 20,000 paid subscribers.
Viral Moments And Setback
The stream produced viral moments, including live calls to Cubana Chief Priest and Victor Osimhen. A brief Twitch suspension followed but was resolved without long-term impact.
Efe has shifted into long-form live content and celebrity hosting. A January 2, 2026, livestream with American rapper and YouTuber DDG helped him reach 500,000 followers, making him the first African streamer to hit the mark.
