Will Smith has been sued by touring violinist Brian King Joseph over alleged sexual harassment and retaliation. The claims relate to events said to have occurred during the Based On A True Story tour. The lawsuit also names Smith’s company, Treyball Studios Management, as defendants.
The filing states that Joseph worked as a violinist on the tour and was staying in a hotel provided through tour arrangements. It alleges that in March 2025, while in Las Vegas, he returned to his room and found items he says did not belong to him, alongside a handwritten note. The note reportedly read, “Brian, I’ll be back no later 5:30, just us.”
Claims Linked To Hotel Incident
According to the lawsuit, Joseph reported the incident to hotel security and later informed members of the tour’s management team. The filing states that he was removed from the tour three days later. Management allegedly told him the production was “moving in a different direction.” The lawsuit claims the dismissal followed his report of the hotel incident.
Allegations Outlined In Legal Filing
The legal filing also states that Joseph alleges earlier interactions with Smith beginning in 2024. The document claims Smith made comments describing a “special connection” between them. The lawsuit characterises these interactions as part of conduct it describes as grooming and priming.
The claims listed in the filing include alleged sexual harassment, retaliation, intimidation, and wrongful termination. The lawsuit seeks financial damages and other legal remedies.
