FC Barcelona will play at a revamped Camp Nou for the first time in two years this Saturday when they play Espanyol in the Catalan derby.

The stadium, which has undergone a major renovation, has an increased capacity of more than 105,000. The overhaul also includes a new roof, improved sightlines, and upgraded facilities, according to club officials.

Club president Joan Laporta said the reopening is “a historic moment” for Barcelona and the city. “The wait has been long, but this modernised Camp Nou reflects our ambition on and off the field,” he added.

Barcelona also plan a series of opening events around the stadium this weekend, including guided tours for fans and a special ceremony to celebrate the reopening.
