YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is scheduled to take on former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on December 19. The bout will take place at Miami’s Kaseya Center, his promoters announced Monday.
The fight will be an eight-round heavyweight bout, to be streamed globally on Netflix. Both fighters are expected to wear standard 10-ounce gloves for the contest.
Paul, 28, called the event “Judgment Day,” saying it’s not just another match but a career-defining moment. “A professional heavyweight fight against an elite world champion in his prime,” he said, promising to silence his critics and stake his claim as a serious title challenger.
Joshua, 36, brings a decorated resume to the ring, including two unified world heavyweight titles and Olympic gold in 2012. He said there would be “no mercy” when he steps into the ring.
While Joshua has not fought since his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, he emphasized that this fight is a major opportunity. “I’m coming back with a mega show… I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record,” he said.
The bout replaces Paul’s previously scheduled fight against Gervonta “Tank” Davis, which was canceled earlier this month.
