A documentary celebrating the legacy of the Dungeon Family will make its debut at a free public screening in Atlanta on October 21, 2025.

The film titled “The Saviors of the South,” chronicles the group’s profound and long-reaching influence on hip-hop music and culture. The event will be held at the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center.

The premiere is presented by ONE Musicfest, UATL, and ButterATL. There will be a live panel discussion with the remaining members of the iconic collective, including members of Goodie Mob and Organized Noize, following the film screening.

The Dungeon Family was established in the 1990s as an Atlanta music staple. The group launched the careers of icons like OutKast and Goodie Mob. They developed a distinctive Southern sound that was at the forefront of Atlanta hip-hop, and their studio became an international hip-hop destination.

The family production team ‘Organized Noize’ produced huge hits not only for Dungeon Family
artistes but also for other artistes such as TLC, En Vogue, and Ludacris.

“The Saviors of the South” examines how these artistes transformed the trajectory of the hip-hop genre. The three-hour special honors Georgia’s bountiful musical heritage and offers fans direct engagement with the artists.
