Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked manager Vítor Pereira following a disastrous start to the 2025–26 Premier League season.
Under Pereira, Wolves failed to win any of their first 10 league matchesm. The loss at Craven Cottage against Fulham on Saturday intensified pressure on the Portuguese, who had signed a contract extension only weeks earlier.
Executive chairman Jeff Shi thanked Pereira and his staff for their efforts last season but said results this term “fell below acceptable standards.” He added: “We must make a change.”
Pereira’s exit ends an 11-month spell in charge. He had replaced Gary O’Neil in December 2024 and guided the club to safety last season. All eight of his backroom staff have also left.
Youth coaches James Collins (Under-21s) and Richard Walker (Under-18s) will lead first-team training on an interim basis.
Wolves are rock bottom of the table, eight points from safety. Their next match is away at Chelsea.
