Tyla Announces New Album A-Pop After Grammy Win

Tyla has announced plans for her second studio album, A-Pop, following her win at the 2026 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The South African singer won Best African Music Performance for her hit single “Push 2 Start”.

New Creative Direction After Breakthrough Year

The singer described the project as a reflection of her growth as an artiste and a shift in creative direction.

“I feel like the first album, it was very hectic, it was a rush. It was like, all of a sudden, overnight craziness,” Tyla said. “So now that I’m settled in, I feel like I know more about my direction and what I want to do, what I want to say.”

She added that A-Pop will capture her artistic identity while exploring fresh sounds and styles.

Album Creation and Experimentation

According to Tyla, work on the album began last year. She explained that the process involved experimentation and exploration.

“I just knew that as I lived through the making of the album, it was going to fall into place, which it did. I feel like I just did something really fresh and so Tyla,” she said.

Grammy Success and What’s Next

Her Grammy-winning single “Push 2 Start” has continued to perform strongly on streaming platforms. No official release date has yet been announced for A-Pop.

With her Grammy victory and the forthcoming album, Tyla is set to further expand her international profile and continue pushing African music on the global stage.
