The Houston Rockets pulled away after halftime to secure a 104–86 road win over the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night.
Kevin Durant scored 31 points as the Rockets bounced back from a previous loss and claimed their sixth win in eight games.
Second-Half Surge Decides the Game
After struggling offensively the previous night, Houston outscored Atlanta 61–44 over the final two quarters. The Rockets led 43–42 at halftime before taking control with a 13–2 run in the third quarter.
They outscored the Hawks 35–24 in the period and opened the fourth with a 12–4 burst.
Key Performers
Durant shot 12-of-22 from the field and hit three three-pointers. Jabari Smith Jr. added 14 points and eight rebounds, Reed Sheppard scored 13, and Josh Okogie posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Hawks Short-Handed Despite Strong Effort
Atlanta was without four starters, including Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu. CJ McCollum still led the Hawks with 23 points, while Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 20 and Corey Kispert 17.
The loss snapped Atlanta’s four-game winning streak.
