Registration for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games officially opened on Wednesday, with ticket prices starting at $28 (£20.80).
The registration window runs until 18 March, placing fans into a random draw for ticket purchasing slots in April.
How Ticket Sales Will Work
Fans selected in the draw will receive purchase windows between 9 and 19 April, when the first batch of tickets — including opening and closing ceremonies — will go on sale.
Organisers confirmed:
- Around 1 million tickets priced at $28
- About one-third of tickets costing under $100
“These Games belong to everyone,” said LA28 chairman Casey Wasserman.
Fair Access and Host City Plans
Officials described the random draw as the fairest way to ensure access. Registering early offers no advantage.
Los Angeles will host the Olympics for the third time, having staged the Games in 1932 and 1984. Oklahoma City will also host select events.
Ticket registration opened with a ceremonial lighting of the cauldron at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
