Jason Jae Opens Up On BBNaija, Music Journey And New Single

BBNaija Season 10 housemate and musician Jason Jae has shared insights into how he gained entry into the Big Brother Naija house, his journey into music, and the impact the reality show has had on his career. He also announced an upcoming collaborative single with fellow housemates.

In an interview with HipTV, Jason Jae addressed long-held perceptions that access to the BBNaija platform is influenced by connections. He explained that his audition was neither planned nor driven by industry influence.

“I Didn’t Think I Would Be Picked” – Jason Jae On BBNaija Auditions

Jason Jae revealed that a friend sent him the audition link, and he decided to register without any expectations of being selected.

“I didn’t think I would be picked,” he said, adding that the experience changed his perception of the audition process. According to him, BBNaija’s selection process is centred on personality and fit, rather than who an applicant knows.

Music Journey And Early Influences

Speaking on his music journey, Jason Jae said his artistic direction began to take shape during his university years, where he performed at various events while incorporating dance into his performances.

He later moved to Lagos to focus fully on music and acknowledged singer Dare Art Alade for supporting him during his early days in the city.

Afro-Amapiano Sound And Songwriting Credits

The artist described his current sound as Afro-Amapiano, explaining that his focus is on creating high-energy records suited for clubs and live performances.

Beyond performing, Jason Jae said he is actively involved in songwriting and confirmed that he co-wrote Eltee Skhillz’s hit song “ODG (Odogwu Na The Spender)”.

New Collaborative Single ‘Pressure’

Jason Jae also revealed that he and some of his former housemates have been working on new music. He announced a collaborative single titled Pressure, featuring Kanyin and Mensan.

According to him, the song was conceived during their time in the BBNaija house.

Life After BBNaija

The musician noted that the Big Brother Naija platform has significantly influenced his career since leaving the show. He cited increased visibility, stronger fan engagement, and improved access to brand opportunities.

The single Pressure is scheduled for release on February 13, alongside its official music video.
