The Recording Academy announced on February 11, 2026, that 14 iconic recordings will be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame this year.
Among the highlights are landmark albums by Radiohead, Funkadelic, and 2Pac, recognised for their qualitative and historical impact on music.
Radiohead’s OK Computer Honoured
Radiohead’s “OK Computer” (1997) remains a defining work of alternative rock. Featuring dystopian themes and innovative production on tracks like “Paranoid Android” and “Karma Police”, the album won a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Performance and continues to influence experimental rock.
Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain Recognised
Funkadelic’s “Maggot Brain” (1971), led by George Clinton, blends psychedelic funk and rock. The title track’s extended guitar solo by Eddie Hazel is regarded as one of the genre’s most emotive moments, shaping the evolution of P-Funk and beyond.
2Pac’s All Eyez On Me Celebrated
2Pac’s double album “All Eyez on Me” (1996) marked a high point in West Coast hip-hop. It topped the Billboard 200 and featured hits such as “California Love” and “How Do U Want It”. The project cemented Tupac Shakur’s legacy as one of rap’s most influential figures.
Diverse Class Of 2026
The 2026 class includes nine albums and five songs spanning nearly a century. Other inductees include:
- Janet Jackson – Rhythm Nation 1814
- Selena – Amor Prohibido
- Alice Coltrane – Journey in Satchidananda
- Nick Drake – Pink Moon
- Heart – Dreamboat Annie
- Lucinda Williams – Car Wheels on a Gravel Road
- Recordings by Eric B. & Rakim, The Soul Stirrers, and others
These additions bring the Hall of Fame total to 1,179 recordings.
The inductees will be celebrated at the Grammy Hall of Fame Gala on May 8, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
