England wrapped up another flawless outing in their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 victory over Serbia at Wembley on Thursday. The result extended their unbeaten run to seven wins from seven, with no goals conceded in the process.
The breakthrough came in the 28th minute when Bukayo Saka struck a first-time volley into the corner of the net, following a blocked attempt from debutant Nico O’Reilly. His strike marked England’s 14th international goal of the campaign and put the hosts in control early.
Late in the game, substitute Eberechi Eze sealed the victory with a curling finish in stoppage time, after a slick move involving both Phil Foden and returning star Jude Bellingham.
Manager Thomas Tuchel praised the depth of his squad and the impact of his bench. “We brought on quality players and they wanted to show what they showed,” he said.
With this win, England now tally 21 points from seven games and remain firmly at the top of Group K. Serbia’s defeat all but ends their chances of reaching next year’s tournament in North America.
Next up for England is a final group match away to Albania on Sunday.
