Offset has cleared a $1.5 million federal tax debt as his divorce from Cardi B remains unresolved. The debt covered unpaid taxes from the 2022 tax year. Authorities first filed the claim on 3 April 2024.
The rapper still faces other tax liabilities including $486,426.35 unpaid federal taxes for the 2023 and Georgia state debt of about $292,000 for unpaid 2021 taxes.
Cardi B Speaks On Financial Standoff
Cardi B said their divorce would have been resolved but for the unpaid taxes:
“The only reason why I’m still married is because somebody wants me to pay for their taxes.”
“I’m practically still married because somebody wanna hold me hostage if I don’t give them millions of dollars.”
Offset and Cardi B married in 2017 after meeting earlier that year. They share three children. Cardi filed for divorce in 2024. The case has not reached a final settlement. Both parties have continued separate public lives since the filing.
Florida Nightclub Case Awaits Ruling
Offset also faces a civil case linked to a Florida nightclub incident from 2021. Two men obtained a $232,000 default judgment. A hearing is scheduled for February 2026 for a judge to rule on the alleged assault.
