John Legend marked his forty-seventh birthday with a family visit to the Sloomoo Institute in New York City on 28 December. The visit included his wife, Chrissy Teigen, and their four children. The group took part in the venue’s interactive slime activities during the outing.
Images from the visit were shared online by Teigen, showing the family taking part in hands-on displays. The outing formed part of the family’s holiday period in the city.
Family Outing Marks Birthday Celebration and Gospel Music Recognition
Legend and Teigen are parents to daughters Luna Simone and Esti Maxine, and sons Miles Theodore and Wren Alexander. The couple married in 2013 and have frequently appeared together at public and family events.
The birthday period followed recent professional recognition for Legend through his work in gospel music. His collaboration titled Church reached number one on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart.
I grew up singing and playing in the church. I have a profound respect for the tradition of gospel music and gospel radio, he stated.
Grammy Nomination Update
The song also received a nomination for best gospel performance or song at the upcoming Grammy Awards scheduled for 1 February.
To have ‘Church’ reach number one on the Gospel Airplay chart is a blessing, he said.
