Doja Cat opened her Tour Ma Vie World Tour in New Zealand on Tuesday and addressed early complaints from viewers online. Clips from her performance spread on social media, where some users questioned her stage design, costumes and creative direction.
A few online comments compared the new tour with her earlier work. One user wrote that the show “looked like Scarlet with different outfits,” while another urged her to accept feedback. Doja responded sharply to both posts. She replied, “I won’t and I don’t need you.”
The singer delivered more direct statements to other critics. She wrote, “I make music for people who enjoy music. I’m not a Broadway act.” She also said, “I’m not your costume monkey, I move at my own pace,” while adding that she worked hard each night to complete the show.
Doja also addressed claims that her performance style required adjustment. She emphasised that her priority remained the music and the audience who attended her concerts. She noted that many critics were not present at the show and only judged through short online clips. Her replies continued throughout the night
The tour featured twenty-seven songs taken from her catalogue. She scheduled dates across South America in 2026 before heading to Europe in May and June. She planned to return to the United States in October for more shows.
