Young Jonn Claps Back At “Farming” Accusation

Young Jonn has angrily pushed back at critics who accused him of “farming” after his album Blue Disco placed four tracks in the current Apple Music Nigeria Top Songs chart.

Farming is using artificial or coordinated tactics to boost streams or chart positions through bots, bulk plays, or playlist networks.

“2Factor” featuring Asake and Focalistic sits at No. 2, “Lalala” featuring Rema is at No. 3, “Go Shawty (It’s Your Birthday)” with DJ Tunez is at No. 10, and “Jiggy Bop” is at No. 11. The album itself is currently No. 2 on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums chart, behind Straffitti’s BUR$T EP.

It all began after chart screenshots and posts trended on X. One widely shared post flagged Young Jonn’s cluster of entries and argued other music acts had been blocked from higher placement.

@kay_das_V2 in a post on X wrote:

“Young john too useless, he don farm the two songs go up again, make ogbafia no wake up check chart o, young John use hand put him two songs go 1&2 again.

In a series of blistering posts from his @YoungJonn account, the singer-producer responded:

“The bitterness on this app is crazy – I get una time today!” Escalating, he slammed critics: “if you’re not a fan of my work, leave it at that! Don’t come here and water down my years of hardwork! e no go better for your family!”

Further addressing the trolls, he added, “Love to the true fans that truly appreciate my work, thanks for all the support – some people are just stupid and e no go still better for their family!”

Streaming data supports the album’s strong start. Earlier singles such as “Cash Flow” with Wizkid logged major first-week streaming totals and high positions on local and international charts.

Blue Disco has secured major headlines, big streaming numbers, and a loud online fight. It remains in the top two on Apple Music Nigeria two weeks after launch…
