Bayern Munich produced a dramatic 2–1 victory away at Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Colombian winger Luis Díaz opened the scoring in the 4th minute and doubled his tally in the 32nd minute with a fine finish after stealing possession from PSG’s captain, Marquinhos. Díaz was dismissed just before halftime for a heavy challenge on Achraf Hakimi.

PSG pulled one back through substitute João Neves in the 74th minute with a spectacular scissor kick. Despite dominating possession in the second half, they could not find an equaliser. The defeat is PSG’s first Champions League loss since last season.

Bayern’s win takes them to 12 points from four games in the group, keeping them top of the 36-team competition. PSG drop to third, with injury concerns mounting after Hakimi and Ousmane Dembélé were forced off early.

Coach Vincent Kompany praised the result but warned that nothing is guaranteed: “We’ve won 16 but from tomorrow onwards it’s back to zero, nobody has won the Champions League today.”

PSG boss Luis Enrique said his team gave “big gifts” to Bayern and will need to recover quickly. “What matters is February, March, April, May.”
