Tyler Perry has asked a court to dismiss the sexual assault lawsuit filed against him by actor Mario Rodriguez for lack of merit.
Rodriguez alleges that Perry engaged in inappropriate conduct over a period of years.
Allegations Detailed in Complaint
According to the complaint, Rodriguez first met Perry in the mid-2010s and later appeared in the film Boo! A Madea Halloween.
The filing asserts that some of the alleged conduct took place in California and caused long-term harm.
Perry’s Legal Response
Perry’s legal team argues that the allegations are unfounded. The defence calls the lawsuit a “shakedown” and a “money grab,” and alleges that the plaintiff had made repeated requests for financial compensation before filing the lawsuit.
