Media personality and entrepreneur Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Symply Tacha, has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records for achieving two remarkable feats in cosmetic makeovers.

The event, held at her Tacha Beauty Fest in Lagos on October 11-12, 2025, showcased her dedication to empowering African women through beauty.

Tacha, a former Big Brother Naija housemate turned influencer, drew from her lifelong passion for makeup as a tool for self-expression.

For the first record, Tacha completed 82 full cosmetic makeovers in just eight hours, each including foundation, concealer, blush, eyeshadows, mascara, lip liner, gloss, powder, and eyebrow shaping. She then set her sights on the 24-hour title with 144 makeovers, surpassing the previous record held by Mary Yongai of Sierra Leone by over 30.

The marathon faced significant hurdles, including a nine-hour storm that damaged the venue and multiple power outages. Undeterred, Tacha and her team continued using phone flashlights, with a glass-walled station allowing spectators to cheer on the participants.

Beyond the numbers, the event empowered hundreds of women, personalizing makeovers to boost their self-esteem and spotlight emerging makeup artists. Tacha described it as a testament to breaking limits and rewriting narratives for African women in global arenas.

Guinness World Records confirmed the achievements on November 12, 2025, sparking widespread celebration online. In an Instagram post, Tacha expressed gratitude, stating:

“To everyone who called, pulled up, reposted, and believed before they saw it, THANK YOU. The same God who did this for me knows the secret prayers in your heart, and He will answer you DOUBLE… double, double, double, double.
