Nigerian media personality and entrepreneur Tacha Akide has successfully completed her Guinness World Record attempt for the most cosmetic makeovers by an individual in 24 hours, transforming 145 models during a 24-hour marathon. The event took place at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History in Lagos, from October 11 to 12, 2025, as part of the inaugural Tacha Beauty Festival.
Despite challenges such as technical glitches and a brief power outage, Tacha and her team maintained a steady pace, completing each makeover with precision and creativity. The models, representing diverse body types and skin tones, were documented with professional headshots and runway showcases, adhering to Guinness World Records’ verification requirements.
The event attracted a host of celebrities and influencers, including Toke Makinwa, Alex Unusual, Ice Prince, Dabota Lawson, and Soma Anyama, all of whom came to support Tacha’s ambitious endeavor. The Lagos State Government, through the Special Adviser on Tourism, Idris Aregbe, also lent its support, emphasizing the significance of the initiative in promoting Nigerian creativity and excellence on the global stage.
Tacha expressed her gratitude to her fans, sponsors, and team members, stating, “This is not just about breaking a record—it’s about showing the world that Nigerian women can set the standard in any industry.” With all required documentation submitted, Tacha awaits official confirmation from Guinness World Records.
