Super Eagles Set To Face Jordan Amid FIFA Ruling

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Jordan in an international friendly in Amman during the March 23–31 FIFA window.

The fixture will mark the first-ever senior meeting between the two nations and forms part of Jordan’s preparations for their maiden World Cup appearance.

Nicknamed “The Chivalrous Ones,” Jordan have been drawn in a demanding World Cup group alongside defending champions Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.

Friendly Hinges On FIFA Eligibility Decision

Nigeria’s participation in the match hinges on FIFA’s ruling over an eligibility protest against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The petition alleges that DR Congo fielded six ineligible players during last year’s 2026 World Cup African play-offs. Nigeria were beaten on penalties in Morocco, a result that saw them miss out on qualification for a second consecutive World Cup.

FIFA is expected to review Nigeria’s petition this week.

Possible Route Back To World Cup

The outcome of FIFA’s review could reinstate the Super Eagles into the intercontinental play-offs in Mexico later this month.

One of the final World Cup qualification spots will be decided there, keeping Nigeria’s hopes alive pending the governing body’s verdict.
