Sinners has emerged as the top contender at the 16th Guild of Music Supervisors Awards, leading with three major nominations.

The ceremony is scheduled for 28 February at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. The film secured a nomination for Best Music Supervision in a Major Budget Film for Niki Sherrod.

Its original songs, “I Lied to You” and “Last Time,” were also nominated for Best Song Written and/or Recorded for a Film. Both tracks are currently shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Raphael Saadiq to Receive Icon Award

Raphael Saadiq, who co-wrote “I Lied to You” with Ludwig Göransson, will receive the Guild’s Icon Award during the ceremony.

In a statement released by organisers, Saadiq said:

“I am honoured to be the recipient of this year’s Icon Award. To be recognised by a community that celebrates the important relationship between music and cinematic storytelling means a lot to me.”

Performances and Presenters

The evening will feature performances of nominated songs, including Saadiq’s “I Lied to You” alongside Brittany Howard, as well as Diane Warren’s “Dear Me”.

Confirmed presenters include John Legend and Kate Hudson.

Recognising Excellence in Music Supervision

The Guild of Music Supervisors Awards celebrate achievement across film, television, documentaries, advertising, trailers, and video games.

Other nominees this year include “A Minecraft Movie”, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy”, “F1”, and “Materialists”.

With multiple nominations and a major honorary distinction attached to the project, Sinners enters the Guild ceremony as a standout contender.
