Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko struck deep into stoppage time to seal a dramatic 3-2 victory over Fulham on Sunday.
United Takes Early Control
United appeared to be cruising after first-half goals from Casemiro and Matheus Cunha put them 2-0 up. Casemiro opened the scoring in the 19th minute by heading in Bruno Fernandes’ free kick.
Cunha doubled the advantage in the 56th minute with a sharp finish from a tight angle following a clever no-look pass from Casemiro.
Late Fulham Fightback
Fulham pulled a goal back in the 85th minute when Raul Jimenez converted from the penalty spot after being fouled by Harry Maguire.
The visitors then stunned Old Trafford in the 91st minute as Kevin lashed home a powerful equaliser from the edge of the box for his first Premier League goal.
Sesko Delivers the Final Blow
Just as momentum appeared to swing away from United, substitute Sesko delivered the decisive moment in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
After Bruno Fernandes slipped the ball past Calvin Bassey, the Slovenian striker turned sharply inside the box and smashed an unstoppable effort into the top corner, sparking wild celebrations.
Post-Match Reaction and Table Impact
“This was a big game,” Michael Carrick told reporters. “Fulham are a good team, close behind us in the league. Every game is a big game and we have to treat it like that.”
He added:
“I’m so delighted for Ben. To win the game in front of the Stretford End, there’s not much better than that.”
The win lifted Manchester United into fourth place on 41 points, while Fulham slipped to eighth with 34 points.
