Playboi Carti’s third studio album, “MUSIC” has become the first 2025 rap project with three tracks surpassing 100 million Spotify streams each. These three tracks are “Rather Lie,” “Evil J0rdan,” and “Toxic.”
Released on March 14, the 30-track album, also known as “I Am Music” debuted with 139 million global first-day streams, the platform’s biggest single-day total for any album this year. “MUSIC” topped the Billboard 200 with 298,000 equivalent units, the highest rap debut of 2025.
All 30 songs simultaneously charted on the Billboard Hot 100, a rare feat previously matched only by Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen. The project features collaborations with artistes including Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Lil Uzi Vert. The album earned a 2025 Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album.
Speaking on the history making album, Carti said: “MUSIC made history, vamp life forever.”
The continued chart activity followed the March 25 release of a deluxe edition, Music – Sorry 4 Da Wait. The rapper is currently preparing for a forthcoming world tour.
