Playboi Carti has launched a digital billboard campaign in Times Square to promote his third studio album, “MUSIC”. A towering digital display was set up, featuring a message in stark white text: “SORRY 4 DA WAIT. 1B+ STREAMS. APOLOGY ACCEPTED.”
The message directly addresses fans who have waited nearly five years for a new album since the release of his 2020 album, “Whole Lotta Red”. Pre-release singles and teased tracks associated with the project have already surpassed one billion global streams across platforms.
The Times Square display will remain active through January 1, 2026, and is synchronized with similar promotional takeovers in major cities, including Los Angeles, Atlanta, London, and Tokyo.
The album is produced by Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, F1LTHY, Ojivolta, and Art Dealer.
Industry analysts predict the album may be released before December 31 to qualify for 2026 Grammy consideration.
Playboi Carti’s second studio album, “Whole Lotta Red”, dropped on December 25, 2020, and debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA.
