Pharrell Williams will receive the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award during GRAMMY Week 2026. The recognition will be presented at the fourth annual Recording Academy Honors.
The event is hosted by the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective and is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026. It will take place at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles and forms part of the official GRAMMY Week programme.
Recording Academy Praises Pharrell Williams
Recording Academy Chief Executive Officer Harvey Mason Jr said in an official statement:
Pharrell is a true visionary and master of his craft. He has built a legacy that transcends genre, defies convention and shapes culture. His artistry continues to inspire generations of artists around the world,” Mason said.
The Dr. Dre Global Impact Award recognises music creators whose work spans recorded music, cultural leadership, entrepreneurship, and community initiatives.
Pharrell’s Career and Recent Work
Williams is a thirteen-time GRAMMY Award winner with more than forty GRAMMY nominations. His work includes credits as a musician, producer, songwriter, filmmaker, and fashion executive.
In 2025, Williams produced Let God Sort Em Out, the return album by Clipse. The project earned multiple GRAMMY nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album. Williams also released Piece by Piece, an animated film project supported by a twenty-one-track soundtrack featuring new recordings and catalogue tracks.
Business Ventures and Community Impact
Williams currently serves as Creative Director of Louis Vuitton menswear, overseeing design direction and runway collections.
Outside fashion and music, he founded YELLOW, a non-profit organisation focused on youth education. He also launched Black Ambition, a non-profit initiative that supports Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs through funding and mentorship.
Additional ventures include the SOMETHING IN THE WATER festival and the Humanrace wellness brand.
GRAMMY Week 2026 Context
GRAMMY Week 2026 will conclude with the GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, February 1, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, broadcasting on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. Recording Academy Honors is produced annually by the Black Music Collective. Past honourees include Alicia Keys, Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, John Legend, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, and Sylvia Rhone.
