Rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has officially received his grand prize for winning the Next Rated category at the 17th Headies Awards.
The award, presented by Afrobeats superstar Davido, recognised Odumodublvck as the most promising emerging talent, edging out fellow nominees Shallipopi, Qing Madi, Ayo Maff, and Nasboi.
Traditionally, the Next Rated prize includes a brand-new vehicle. In a significant upgrade introduced last year, the prize was switched to a sustainable electric vehicle (EV).

After months of anticipation, the organisers delivered the prize. The delay followed a viral August 2025 post on X where the rapper joked about the missing car, asking when it would be delivered.
Ayo Animashaun’s Statement
The Headies founder, Dr Ayo Animashaun, later confirmed the fulfillment of the promise.
He shared the update on Instagram through a Reel. He described Next Rated as one of the most iconic Headies categories, noting its history, prestige, and role in launching successful careers.
He added that over 20 cars have been awarded to winners of the Next Rated and Mic Check categories since inception. He thanked Official EV Automobiles and Ned Okonkwo for stepping in after an initial sponsorship setback.
Odumodublvck’s Reaction
In the Reel, Odumodublvck was seen celebrating the moment and expressing appreciation for The Headies impact on his career. He also thanked HipTV and the organisers for delivering the electric vehicle.
Odumodublvck now joins a prestigious list of Next Rated winners, including Wizkid, Davido, Rema, and BNXN, with BNXN notably receiving a Bentley Bentayga for his win.
