Nivea took centre stage at Lagos Fashion Week 2025, held on Thursday, 30th October, at the Federal Palace Hotel, in Victoria Island. The event featured a press briefing that explored the real meaning of style and how true fashion begins beyond clothing.

With the theme “The Invisible Side of Style; How True Fashion Begins off the Runway.” The session was moderated by Mobola Fatodu, Senior Brand Manager at Beiersdorf Nigeria, who led the discussion on how beauty and self-assurance start with skin health.

The panel included Fiyin Toyo, Marketing Director at Beiersdorf Nivea Central, East and West Africa (CEWA); Kiekie, a lifestyle influencer; Akin Faminu, a fashion and lifestyle influencer; and fashion entrepreneur Ozinna Anumudu. Together, they discussed how caring for the skin contributes to personal style and self-expression.

Kiekie shared her everyday skincare routine, saying that using Nivea products helps her maintain healthy and a glowing skin, even with her busy schedule. She noted that moisturising daily boosts her confidence and helps her feel stylish throughout the day.

Toyo added that skincare goes beyond creams. She emphasised the importance of using sunscreen for protection and deodorants or roll-ons to stay fresh. Toyo explained that these habits complete a healthy routine and support overall well-being.

The discussion reminded guests that true fashion begins with self-care, that style extends beyond clothing and encompasses how you care for your skin daily.

On the second runway day, designers showed pieces with strong texture, sharp structure and local techniques. The emphasis on sustainability, craft and culture stayed clear in each collection.

In an interview with Hip TV, Fiyin Toyo, Marketing Director for Central, East and West Africa at Beiersdorf – Nivea, highlighted the brand’s work on the night. She pointed to the collaboration between Nivea – a personal care brand that specializes in skin and body care and Fruché, a contemporary fashion brand based in Lagos, Nigeria, saying the partnership produced a black and white line inspired by Nivea’s black and white deodorant.

She said, “We created and showcased a beautiful line of black and white outfits inspired by Nivea’s black and white deodorant.” Also she described the week as a cultural moment and added, “I’m proud to be Nigerian, to be African right now, because what we saw on the runway was world class.”

Frank Aghuno, Creative Director and founder of Fruché, said the collaboration with Nivea centered on a ten-piece black and white collection linked to the brand’s invisible spray and roll on. He said, “It shows that with different textures, silhouettes and structures, your underarms and your deodorant do not have to tarnish your clothes.” He explained that he sketched the full set within minutes because the palette fits into his design approach.
