NBA YoungBoy has unveiled the trailer for his upcoming documentary, “American YoungBoy”, scheduled for release on April 25, 2026.
Inside the Documentary
The film is directed by Nico Ballesteros, known for directing In Whose Name?.
“American YoungBoy” captures both on-stage performances and behind-the-scenes moments, including rehearsals, backstage interactions, and glimpses into the rapper’s home and family life.
Trailer Highlights
The trailer opens with a narrated introduction focused on YoungBoy’s resilience:
“They tried to silence him. They tried to bury him. Every scar became a story. The glow can’t be contained. The takeover. The movement rises again and again. Tonight, the resurrection begins. It’s time to make America again, baby.”
It also features live performances, including his 2020 track Kacey Talk, alongside footage from the MASA tour.
A Historic Year for YoungBoy
The documentary arrives during a landmark period in YoungBoy’s career.
In January, he was recognised by the Recording Industry Association of America as the most certified rapper of all time, surpassing Drake and Jay-Z.
His ninth studio album, Slime Cry, debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 and featured collaborations with Burna Boy and Jelly Roll.
MASA Tour Success
The MASA tour, central to the documentary, included 42 sold-out shows and grossed an estimated $70–75 million.
Ballesteros explained that the film aims to present both the масштаб of YoungBoy’s career and his personal journey.
