Napoli claimed the Italian Super Cup with a 2–0 win over Bologna in Riyadh on Monday, thanks to a brace from David Neres.
Napoli Win And Controlled Performance
Neres opened the scoring six minutes before halftime, curling a long-range effort into the top corner after drifting inside from a throw-in. Napoli dominated from the start, with Eljif Elmas and Leonardo Spinazzola creating early chances. Bologna goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia made several saves to keep the score respectable.
The match was effectively decided in the 57th minute when Neres intercepted a loose pass and chipped Ravaglia from a tight angle, putting the game beyond Bologna’s reach.
The victory marked Napoli’s third Italian Super Cup and first since 2014. Bologna, who had beaten Inter Milan on penalties in the semi-finals, could not secure the trophy on their first final appearance.
