It was a thrilling evening filled with excitement as Idia, a Nigerian mythological horror film, premiered at Silverbird Galleria, Lagos, on Sunday, October 19, 2025. The premiere brought together actors, filmmakers, and fans eager to watch the much-anticipated Edo folklore story.

Produced by Dr Jasper Aziegbemhin and Yvonne Ajoki under Golden Minutes Pictures, Idia tells the story of a young orphan who is adopted by a strange family to work as their housekeeper. As the story unfolds, she discovers dark secrets about the family and faces forces beyond her control. The film combines horror with cultural roots drawn from Edo folklore.

The premiere drew a lively audience, including cast members, film lovers, and media personalities who came to celebrate a story that mixes African culture with modern filmmaking.

Speaking with Hip TV, Gbubemi Ejeye, who played the lead role, said Idia shows how far people can go to be accepted. She called it “an amazing horror film” and said she was very happy to be chosen for the role. Gbubemi added that working with the cast and crew was an unforgettable experience.
