Miley Cyrus has returned as Hannah Montana in the first trailer for the 20th Anniversary Special, premiering on Disney+ on 24 March.
The teaser revisits the original sets, music, and characters that made the series globally popular.
Revisiting Iconic Moments From the Series
In the trailer, Cyrus wears the signature blonde wig as she walks through recreated locations, including the Stewart family home and the famous closet where her character transformed.
Her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, and father, Billy Ray Cyrus, appear alongside her.
One scene shows Tish and Miley looking through a photo album in the closet, while Miley shares a playful hip bump with Billy Ray in the living room set.
Live Studio Audience and Exclusive Interview
The special was filmed before a live studio audience and includes an exclusive interview with Alex Cooper from the Call Her Daddy.
Cooper comments on the show’s cultural impact, saying, “This show defined a generation.”
Cyrus responds, “This anniversary is for them, it’s for us.”
Archival Footage and Behind-the-Scenes Reflections
The special incorporates previously unreleased archival footage and reflections on the creation of Hannah Montana.
Disney confirmed the special focuses on the series’ legacy, including the music that propelled Cyrus to global fame. It does not feature a continuation or reboot of the storyline.
