Former Spice Girls band member Melanie C will release her ninth studio album on May 1 2026.
The album’s title track and lead single, also named “Sweat,” has been released, featuring a sample from Diana Ross’s 1982 hit, “Work That Body.” The single is a disco-pop track that blends elements of dance, sports, and rave culture. The album features 13 tracks, including “Drum Machine,” “WCPGW,” “Pressure,” and “Undefeated Champion.”
To support the release, Melanie C has scheduled a one-off concert performance at O2 Academy Brixton in London for October 23, 2026. Tickets for the show will go on sale on October 24, 2025. The announcement comes as speculation about a potential full Spice Girls reunion surfaced.
Melanie C former bandmate, Victoria Beckham earlier on addressed the possibility of reuniting all five members of Spice Girls after attending an Oasis concert “Tempting……” she wrote in the caption of the reunited Britpop legends, tagging Oasis and David Beckham, along with each of her former bandmates. She suggested that Spice Girls could follow in the footsteps of their fellow ’90s giants and return to the stage.
The Spice Girls’ last official performance together was during the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony. All five members—Melanie C, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, and Mel B—did reunite for an informal performance at Beckham’s 50th birthday party in April 2024.
