Megan Thee Stallion Speaks Out After Health Scare

Megan Thee Stallion has spoken out following her mid-show exit from “Moulin Rouge!” on Tuesday night, 31 March.

The Houston rapper described the incident as a “real wake-up call” and confirmed she would return to the stage only after taking time to rest and recover.

Health Incident During Performance

The health scare occurred during her performance as Zidler at New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Megan was transported to a local hospital after experiencing dehydration, vasoconstriction, and low metabolic levels, according to her representative.

Medical staff treated and discharged her to rest at home.

Artist Reflects on ‘Wake-Up Call’

Reflecting on the event, Megan wrote on Instagram:

“Last night was a real wake-up call for me. I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t. Hotties I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting y’all down.”

She further assured that she would resume her role on Thursday night, 2 April, stating she needed one day to rest but would return stronger and ready to give her performance 100 per cent.

Historic Role on Broadway

Megan’s role in “Moulin Rouge!” is historic. She became the first female-identifying performer to portray Zidler, a milestone in the musical’s Broadway run, which started on 24 March and is scheduled to continue through 17 May.

Her casting has drawn attention to the demands of live theatre for artistes transitioning from concert performances.

Support and Recovery

During Tuesday’s show, Megan’s team confirmed her sudden illness to the theatre staff. Her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, also shared the update on social media, urging for prayers.

Megan’s representative emphasised that she was recovering well and ready to continue her eight-week Broadway run, underscoring her commitment to the production and her historic role.
