Mbappé Double Powers Real Madrid 6–1 Monaco Win

Kylian Mbappé scored twice as Real Madrid dismantled Monaco 6–1 in a commanding Champions League display, marking Álvaro Arbeloa’s first European match in charge.

Fast Start From Madrid

Real needed just five minutes to open the scoring. Franco Mastantuono burst down the right to find Federico Valverde, whose pass set up Mbappé to fire low into the corner.

The French forward, a former Monaco player, has now scored 13 goals in 15 games against his old club.

Mbappé Hits Milestone

Mbappé doubled the lead in the 26th minute, finishing a low cross from Vinícius Júnior for his 11th goal of the Champions League campaign.

Real extended their lead early in the second half when 18-year-old Mastantuono scored his first Champions League goal.

Vinícius Jr Takes Control

Vinícius Jr forced a fourth when his low cross was turned into his own net by Thilo Kehrer. Eight minutes later, the Brazilian capped a fine display with a fifth that flew in off the underside of the crossbar.

Monaco briefly responded through Jordan Teze after a defensive error, but Jude Bellingham restored Real’s five-goal cushion for his first goal of 2026.

Real sit second on 15 points, while Monaco are 20th and must beat Juventus to reach the play-offs.
