Mariah Carey has returned to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 as “All I Want for Christmas Is You” moves from No. 5 to No. 1.
The new peak is the song’s nineteenth total week at the summit, tying the all-time Hot 100 record. It matches the achievements of “Old Town Road” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which each dominated during single release cycles. The update confirms the track’s dominant seasonal presence.
‘All I want for Christmas is You’ first appeared in 1994 and gained new momentum through the rise of streaming platforms.
It entered the Hot 100 top ten for the first time in December 2017 after shifts in listener behaviour online. It progressed further in 2018, reaching the top five during that festive season. This development marked the beginning of its annual December chart climb.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” returned to No. 1 in the holiday seasons of 2019, 2020 and 2021. It led additional weeks in 2022 and 2023. The trend continued in 2024 as the track maintained significant festive impact. Its 2025 return adds another strong performance to its established seasonal history.
Carey’s nineteen chart-topping entries place her one short of the all-time record held by The Beatles. She is also the first performer to reach No. 1 in four separate decades.
