Manchester United Held by Bottom Side Wolves at Old Trafford

Manchester United ended the year on a disappointing note after being held to a 1–1 draw by bottom-placed Wolves at Old Trafford.

Match Highlights

United failed to make home advantage count against a struggling Wolves side, who picked up just their third point of the season. The result leaves United frustrated after dropping points they were expected to secure.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Joshua Zirkzee’s effort from the edge of the box deflected off a defender and beat the goalkeeper. United pushed for a second, with Benjamin Šeško striking the post from a corner. However, Wolves struck back just before halftime as Ladislav Krejci headed home from close range after a defensive lapse.

Both sides had chances after the break, but clear openings were limited. United goalkeeper Senne Lammens made a crucial double save to deny Wolves, while United struggled to find rhythm in attack. A late goal from Patrick Dorgu was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

Manager Reaction And Table Implications

United boss Ruben Amorim admitted his side lacked attacking cohesion. He said the team had chances but struggled with fluidity and connections going forward.

The draw leaves Manchester United sixth on 30 points, two behind the top four. Wolves remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just three points from 19 matches.
