LeBron James has been cleared to resume contact basketball activities following a sciatica diagnosis in his right side, the Los Angeles Lakers announced on Thursday.
The 40-year-old, who is preparing for his 23rd NBA season and eighth with the Lakers, will be re-evaluated by team physicians in approximately one to two weeks.
James was sidelined earlier this season after being diagnosed with sciatica, a condition involving irritation of the sciatic nerve that runs from the lower back through the leg.
Despite his absence, the Lakers have compiled a 7-2 record and currently hold a five-game winning streak at the start of their campaign.
In the 2024-25 season, James averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds per game and was named to the All-NBA Second Team.
