Knicks Defeat Nuggets in Double OT to Extend Win Streak

The New York Knicks outlasted the Denver Nuggets 134-127 on Wednesday night to extend their winning streak to eight games in a dramatic double-overtime contest.

Jalen Brunson took control in the second overtime, scoring the first six points of the decisive run. He finished with 42 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds, outscoring Denver 10-8 in the second extra period.

Brunson Leads Balanced Knicks Attack

Karl-Anthony Towns added 24 points and 12 rebounds, though he missed most of the second quarter after suffering a cut around his right eye following a collision with Spencer Jones.

OG Anunoby contributed 20 points, while Landry Shamet scored 16 off the bench. Jordan Clarkson and Mitchell Robinson also reached double figures, highlighting New York’s depth.

Jokic Triple-Double Not Enough for Denver

Denver leaned heavily on Nikola Jokic, who recorded a 30-point, 14-rebound, 10-assist triple-double. However, the former MVP endured a tough shooting night, going a career-worst 1-for-13 from three-point range and finishing at 37 percent overall.

Jamal Murray led all scorers for Denver with 39 points, but the Nuggets suffered a season-high third straight loss.

Late Drama and Overtime Decider

The tightly contested game featured 20 lead changes and 19 ties, with neither side leading by more than nine points. Jokic missed a potential game-winning three at the end of regulation.

Denver forced overtime when Mikal Bridges fouled Christian Braun away from the ball with 0.3 seconds left, allowing Braun to convert two free throws. After Murray opened the second overtime with a dunk, Brunson responded with a bank shot and then put the Knicks ahead for good at the line.

Bridges later drilled a crucial three-pointer before Brunson sealed the win with a floater and two free throws.

“I just tried to stay aggressive and trust my work,” Brunson said. “In games like this, you’ve got to embrace the moment.”
