The New York Knicks powered to a season-best seventh consecutive victory with a dominant 132-101 win over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.
Mikal Bridges scored 23 points, while Jalen Brunson added 21. Bridges was near-perfect, shooting 8 of 10 from the floor, as the Knicks extended their winning streak over the Wizards to 11 games.
Balanced Scoring Fuels Knicks Blowout
Karl-Anthony Towns posted a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. OG Anunoby also scored 19 points, as New York had seven players reach double figures.
Landry Shamet continued his strong shooting form, knocking down four three-pointers on his way to 14 points.
Knicks Take Control Early
New York shot 52.2 percent from the field and an impressive 45.9 percent from three-point range. They also dominated inside, holding a 54-40 advantage in points in the paint.
The game was effectively decided midway through the second quarter. The Knicks went on a 14-0 run in under two minutes to surge ahead 63-34. Towns scored eight points during the burst, while Shamet added two three-pointers.
New York pushed the margin to 88-56 early in the third quarter and never looked back.
Injury Concerns and Wizards Struggles
The only setback for the Knicks came with injuries to Josh Hart and Mohamed Diawara, both of whom exited the game with ankle issues.
For Washington, Will Riley led the way with 17 points off the bench, while Bub Carrington added 14. The Wizards were unable to keep pace and slipped to a 3-2 finish on their homestand.
