Kevin Durant buried a clutch three-pointer with 1.1 seconds remaining to complete a dramatic Houston Rockets comeback in a 100–97 win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday.
Match Highlight
Durant, who had struggled from beyond the arc all night, rose to the moment when it mattered most. After missing 10 of his first 11 three-point attempts, the former MVP calmly knocked down the game-winner off an assist from Jabari Smith Jr. Durant finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.
Smith added 17 points and seven rebounds, while Amen Thompson chipped in with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists as Houston overturned a 13-point second-half deficit.
Phoenix controlled much of the opening half, fuelled by their fast-break execution. Jordan Goodwin set the tone early, while Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks helped the Suns to a 29–25 lead after the first quarter. The visitors piled up 23 fast-break points before halftime and went into the break with a 60–54 advantage.
The Suns stretched the lead to 69–56 early in the third quarter following a Booker-to-Mark Williams alley-oop, appearing firmly in control.
Houston refused to fold. Durant and Thompson sparked a response, while Smith knocked down two timely three-pointers. The rally saw the Rockets erase the deficit and level the score at 78–78 heading into the final quarter.
