Kanye West, now known as Ye, has postponed the release of his upcoming album, Bully. The project, which was previously scheduled to drop on January 30, has now been rescheduled for March 20.
The album will be released across major digital and retail platforms, marking Ye’s return to standard industry distribution channels after several years of alternative rollout strategies.
Album Development and Delays
Work on Bully began in 2022, with the project moving through several development stages over the following years. In March 2025, Ye released a short film tied to the album. The film was edited by Hype Williams and featured Ye’s son, Saint.
Since its initial announcement, the album has faced repeated postponements. Originally slated for release in June 2025, the project was subsequently pushed to July, September, and later November, before landing on the current March 2026 date.
Public Apology and Recent Releases
Days before the new release schedule became public, Ye took out a full-page open letter in The Wall Street Journal. In the letter, he apologised for his past antisemitic and racist remarks toward the Jewish and Black communities, as well as other public conduct.
“I’m not asking for sympathy, or a free pass, though I aspire to earn your forgiveness,” Ye wrote.
The advertisement appeared under his name and was funded by his brand, YZY.
Ye’s last solo album, Donda 2, was released in 2022 via the Stem Player device, with a revised edition later arriving in 2025 under the YZY brand.
