Juma Jux headlined Detty December Fest at Ilubirin Mixed Use Development, Lagos, on 18 December. The singer opened his set with Ololufemi. He followed with performances of God Design, Thank You, Si Mimi, Sheila and Halima, maintaining a steady flow across the opening section of the show.
On-Stage Moments and Surprise Performances
During the performance, Juma invited his Nigeria-born wife, Priscilla, onto the stage. Addressing the crowd, he said, “You see, she is the love of my life.”
Speaking to the crowd, Juma Jux said, “You are still up tonight. I got surprises for you.” The concert featured appearances from Qing Madi, Slimcase, Phyno and Diamond Platnumz. Broda Shaggi also joined the stage with a comedy performance.
During the performance, Diamond Platnumz made a surprise appearance on stage as Enjoy played. Both artistes performed Enjoy and Ololufemi together. Diamond then performed Comment Ça Va and Shu. He asked the audience if they wanted more and turned to Juma, who replied, “They are my people. Give them more.” Diamond later told the crowd, “You know Juma is my brother. I had to be here for his performance.”
Backstage Reactions and Support from Fellow Artists
Juma Jux, speaking with HipTV backstage, said performing in Nigeria was important to him. He thanked his family for their support and added that hearing the audience sing along stood out.
“Hearing the crowd sing my songs was special,” he said.
Diamond Platnumz said the appearance marked his first concert performance in Lagos.
“This is my first concert performance in Lagos,” he stated.
Juma Jux’s wife, Priscilla, speaking backstage, said she was pleased to witness her husband perform live in Nigeria. She stated, “I am happy to see him perform here in Nigeria,” and thanked those who attended, noting the visible support from the audience.
Phyno said he was present to support Juma Jux, stating, “I came out to support Juma.” He added that the turnout was notable, saying, “The crowd came out in numbers.”
