J. Cole has announced that he will release a new studio album titled The Fall-Off on 6 February 2026. The rapper confirmed the date through a short trailer released on 14 January. The clip also previewed new music from the project.
Cole had spoken about the album for several years without giving a timeline. In earlier interviews and lyrics, he repeatedly referenced The Fall-Off as a future project. The new announcement marks the first official confirmation of its release.
Position Within Cole’s Career
The Fall-Off will be J. Cole’s seventh studio album. It follows The Off-Season, which was released in 2021 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. That album produced tracks such as “My Life” and “Amari”.
In the years since The Off-Season, Cole remained active through features and side projects. He released the mixtape Might Delete Later in 2024 and appeared on records by Drake, Lil Durk, and others. He also continued to oversee Dreamville’s collective releases.
Visual Direction And Early Details
Alongside the announcement, Cole revealed the album’s cover art. The image shows a rough studio setup rather than a staged portrait. No official tracklist has been released, but a limited vinyl edition is already available for pre-order.
